Discovery’s newest series, Street Outlaws Memphis kicked off with a strong start last night as JJ called in some of the strongest racers in the south to take on his team. In Memphis, the drivers are like family so if one racer loses, they all lose. There’s no list here, just real street racing and big, big bets!

JJ’s Boy’s First Race – Doughboy Fresh Recap
Like father, like son. Doughboy, JJ’s son, is grown up and ready to start his own street racing career. Lee Roberts was happy to let him give a few go’s in the Night Force, though his first passes left a lot to be desired. Still, in Memphis they’re family and JJ wasn’t about to deny his own life’s passion to his son. Doughboy got to have his first race against the boys from Mississippi.

Life After the Wreck – “Accidents Happen” Recap
After a series of unfortunate events, the Memphis team is feeling pretty down on their luck. First, JJ crashes his trailer with both Heifer and Ole Heavy on board. After mixing parts from the two tattered cars to hopefully get one up and running, Ole Heavy took a second beating when the wheel came off in its first test pass. Now JJ and his crew are scrambling to get any and all races together that he can so that he can get his cars back onto the street.

With Heifer out of commission, JJ looks into his racing past for a way to make money. Buying back an old car he built when he was younger, Ziptie, JJ leads his team to fast streets of Vegas to take on the boys of the 702.

Flashlights and Street Fights Recap
This week we caught up with Memphis as they finished their races against the boys from Vegas. But before they could head home, JJ got a call from Lunchbox, the leader of the Cali Crew. Come race night and tempers are flaring. Cali wants flashlight races and VHT burnouts, which JJ just can’t abide. JJ tried to call the whole thing off, but before he knows it a full-on brawl is breaking out among the racers.
SoCal headed home without a race, but the NoCal crew decided to stick around and make a few passes.

After the Las Vegas and Cali races, JJ brings his gang back home to face off against the team from Kentucky. And to get his girl racing again, JJ decides to give Midget control of Ziptie. He thought she’d be able to maintain control of it, but the car’s a beast and threw her into a roll.
